Important Info for Club Members - Please Read Full Article!
Nov 2, 2014, 4:38 pm

  • F&C AC AGM is this coming Friday (7th November) at the The Crookham Memorial Hall on the corner of Sandy Lane (opposite The Wyvern Pub).  Hot and cold drinks are available from 6.40pm with the meeting starting promptly at 7pm.  Volunteer cake makers are needed - if you can make one, please let us know if you haven't done so already.  The annual awards will be presented on the night.  Club kit/high-viz vest/boot bags will be available to purchase/order on the night.
  • Next weekend is a double cross country fixture.  Saturday is the Hampshire League down at Goodwood and Sunday is the Southern League at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.  Both lovely courses and we need a good turn out at both but particularly on Sunday to follow up our great start to the league last month.  Ladies please let Jo know if you are planning to run and gents please let Bob know.  Car sharing for both events is encouraged.
  • London Marathon club places - these have now been applied for - It's not known how many the club will get until a response is received. Penny will let those know who have given her their reject slips.  Hopefully we will be able to do the draw at the AGM.
  • Over 1/3rd of the online entries for the Fleet Half Marathon have now gone so all club members are encouraged to enter the event now - we want to see as many club runners out on the day as possible.
  • Any contributions to the next club comms should be sent to Penny by Thursday please.
  • Date for your diary - Christmas Handicap run will take place on Sunday 21st December.  Everyone is encouraged to come along and run, ideally wearing a suitable Christmas hat/t-shirt/tinsel/angel halo - whatever takes your fancy and enjoy some nibbles/mulled wine/hot and cold drinks afterwards.  The distance is only 1.5 miles so that the juniors can join in too.
  • Training on Tuesday 4th November - just a reminder the session is on The Avenue so we will be meeting at the car park near the community centre on Elvetham Heath.
  • There's a 6-mile off-road head torch run on Thursday 6th November and a road alternative if preferred.

Fleet 10k Appeal for Marshals & Helpers
Oct 16, 2014, 11:24 am

We have just over a week to go 'till our annual 10k race. This is one of our two club fundraisers and we ask all club members to get involved, either by representing the club and running, or by volunteering on the day. We still have a number of volunteering and marshalling positions unfilled. It is imperative that the key marshal positions are filled in order for the race to proceed, so if you can help out for a couple of hours on the day (26th October) then please let us know as soon as possible. Thanks, Rich Jackson, Fleet 10k Race Director
