SENIORS Schedules Races Results
The Seniors' Winter Training Schedule for the period January 1st 2016 to April 5th 2016 may be found HERE.
Please note that there are three Tuesday training sessions where we are meeting at the Key on Elvetham Heath estate (opposite the De Havilland Arms pub).
TUESDAY / THURSDAY TRAINING
Both Tuesday and Thursday training starts at 7:00 pm and finishes at approximately 8:00 pm.
Details of each session are posted on the Club Calendar Page.
Please note that not all runs start at the club HQ (Peter Driver). Location maps may be found by navigating to the home page and clicking on the "Location Details" tab at the top of the page.
SUNDAY MORNING INFORMAL RUNS
Informal Sunday training runs are being held when there are are not any formally arranged races being held. We meet on Sunday mornings at 08:30 outside the Peter Driver Club Hut. Pace and distance is decided on the day according to who turns up but these will largely be off-road. Dom & Bob will lead. Please check the calendar and emails to check whether run is going ahead.
Formal Track training for Seniors is on the 400m military track in Queen's Avenue, Aldershot continues all year. It is held on alternate Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This session is shared with the Juniors but Seniors have priority of use of the lanes.
There is an Informal Track Training option for seniors, which will be shared with the juniors who will have priority over the lanes. Any senior wishing to use the track on a Junior Training evening should contact the junior coaches at the start of the session to ascertain where they can run without interfering with the junior training.
Please see calendar to check dates and "Location Details" page (link at top of home page) for location of track. These sessions are cancelled when they clash with the Yateley 10k races.
EVENTS AND RACE OPPORTUNITIES
ROAD & TRAIL CHAMPIONSHIPS
At the AGM in November it was agreed that the Club Road Race Championships should be relaunched. We have also decided because so many club members now also compete in many trail races that new Club Trail Race Championships should be introduced.
Tom Barton and Lisa Hale have volunteered to co-ordinate the results and the awards will be presented at the AGM in November.
Why do we want to have these championships?
• To encourage club members to enter some events where they know there will be plenty of other F&C AC members there to encourage them
• To run an event when you are part of a team
• To add some purpose to your regular training
• To show the local running world who we are and what we do
• To support other clubs who host events like they support our 1/2M and 10km races
• Most importantly have some fun doing them
Full details of the races selected and the scoring method may be found HERE
The race on 12th January 2017 had to be cancelled on safety grounds due to falling snow. The results for the final race held on 9th February 2017 plus the results for the first two races in our 2016-17 Winter Handicap series are HERE.
LONDON MARATHON OPPORTUNITIES
Each year our club is allocated one or two places in the London Marathon. First Claim members of the club wishing to enter the ballot for a club place need to meet the following criteria:
