  • XC Meets Leader Board 2015-16 - updated 2016-03-12
    • 5 points for turning up at an event and running for the club;
    • in addition,
      • 3 more points for being the first finisher within the club,
      • 2 for finishing second and
      • 1 for finishing third.
      • In other words, an athlete can score 8, 7, 6 or 5 at any one meeting.
    • The system is meant to reward attendance/loyalty primarily, and ability/performance as secondary.
    • The number of points accrued is shown as well as the number of events attended so far (ten to date, since the start of the XC season.
    • Where two athletes have accumulated equal points but one has attended more meets, then the one that’s been to more meets who is ranked higher, counter-intuitively you might think but meant to reflect the emphasis on attendance above ability. In short, a measure of how much an athlete works to contribute to the club’s success.
    • Big thanks to David Fleming for creating and maintaing this spread sheet.
