| Game Notes | The second part of the season has finally now started. A tough game against Ascot Tornadoes who beat us last year with the last kick of the match.
Both teams started well and passed the ball around very nicely. Ascot looked dangerous on the break and came close on a couple of occasions with the ball fizzing past both posts and were unlucky not to score. Kings continued to work hard chasing down and tackling well, and had a few half chances but nothing to trouble the Ascot keeper too much. HT 0:0.
Second half was as tight as the first, but Kings made the break through with a cracking net busting shot from Kai after good work from Ieuan sucking in two defenders then laying the ball into the path of Kai to smash it home.
Ascot pushed forward but Kings defence led by Shannon & Philip held firm. The equaliser was unlucky and came straight from a corner. With no-one on the front post the ball was whipped across the face of the Kings goal hitting Philip on the back post by surprise and going in.
Kings never gave up and were spurred on - Toby leading the charge with a trade mark run down the right made it into the box and fired home from a tight angle. This was followed up a few minutes later by a Kings corner in to the box - Ascot failed to clear their lines and the ball fell to "Poacher" Ieuan who turned and fired in Kings 3rd from close range.
Credit to Ascot who never gave up hope - pushed forward. Duncan made a couple of good saves and saw another few shots whiz by the post and over the bar. Kings held out for the last 5 mins for a great win against a very decent Ascot side that wont be beaten too many times in the coming months.
